Red Led Transparent 10mm

🔴 10 mm Red LED – Transparent Through-Hole

Overview

A classic 10 mm red LED with a clear or diffused lens, ideal for bright indicator lights, panel signage, and DIY electronics. This through-hole LED offers high visibility and long life, perfect for Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and other microcontroller projects.

Key Features

  • Standard 10 mm round package

  • Bright red emission (625–630 nm)

  • Forward voltage: ~1.8–2.3 V

  • Max forward current: 20 mA continuous (peak up to 80 mA)

  • Diffused or transparent lens options with ~30°–60° viewing angle

  • Long lifespan: 50,000+ hours

  • Durable plastic housing, easy to solder

Wiring with Arduino Uno

Connect using a current-limited resistor, as follows:

CopyEdit
Arduino Pin (e.g. D13) → 330 Ω resistor → LED Anode (+ long leg) LED Cathode (– short leg) → Arduino GND

Using a 5 V output, a 330 Ω resistor limits current to ~10 mA:

(5 V – 2 V) ÷ 330 Ω ≈ 9 mA

Applications

  • Power and status indicators

  • Visual notifications in robotics and IoT

  • Panel lights and signage

  • Educational electronics and breadboard projects

  • Nightlights and low‑power illumination
